The School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence was established in July 2025. Developed from the former School of Computer and Data Engineering, its establishment is a key strategic deployment by the university to adapt to the trend of New Engineering, integrate superior resources, and focus on the cutting-edge fields of artificial intelligence. The school offers two full-time undergraduate majors: Computer Science and Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. It bears the core mission of cultivating composite applied talents in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence who possess a solid theoretical foundation, outstanding engineering practice abilities, and an innovative spirit.


The school boasts a provincial-level excellent teaching team, a provincial-level teaching innovation team, and a provincial-level demonstration experimental and practical training center. The faculty structure is well-balanced, currently consisting of 45 full-time and part-time teachers, including 6 professors, 10 associate professors, 1 senior experimentalist, 2 experimentalists, 1 engineer, 13 lecturers, and 12 assistant lecturers. Teachers with senior professional titles account for 37.8%, and those with a master's degree or higher account for 82.2%. The school has more than 10 provincial-level teaching masters, provincial-level leading talents in disciplines (majors), provincial-level rising stars in teaching, university-level teaching masters, and university-level outstanding teachers. Two teachers have obtained Microsoft international certification, one has been designated as a certified instructor for the Huawei Developer Learning Alliance, and two have received completion certificates for the Young Teachers' Blended Teaching Training Program from Tsinghua University and East China Normal University; nine teachers have obtained training certificates for Big Data + Artificial Intelligence Projects.


Closely revolving around the construction goals of New Engineering and centering on the cultivation of applied talents, the school continuously promotes education and teaching reforms. It actively implements the academic degree + professional certificate talent cultivation model and the industry-education integration model of joint course research, joint faculty training, joint scientific research, and joint talent cultivation, achieving significant results. In collaboration with enterprises like Huawei, the school organizes certification training to build a new ecosystem for talent cultivation and help students enhance their employment competitiveness. Students from the 2022 Computer Science major have obtained computer software copyright registration certificates issued by the National Copyright Administration. Eighteen students passed the National Computer Technology and Software Professional Technical Qualification (Level) Examination and obtained the Software Designer intermediate certificate jointly issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Several students have obtained senior certificates from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, over 60 students passed the Huawei Cloud Developer Certification, 99 students obtained the Huawei HarmonyOS Application Developer Basic Certificate, and 45 students obtained the Huawei HarmonyOS Application Developer Senior Certificate. The school collaborates with Sugon to jointly develop courses and faculty, transforming cutting-edge corporate technologies into teaching content. Focusing on fields such as big data and artificial intelligence, the school aims to cultivate not only students who are employable but also talents who can drive industrial upgrading. Technical research and development directly serve regional digital transformation, achieving the dual value of talent cultivation and social service.


Students have won 7 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 6 third prizes at the national level, and 36 first prizes, 50 second prizes, and 56 third prizes at the provincial level in the National Undergraduate Big Data Analysis Technology and Skills Competition. They have also secured 5 third prizes at the national level and 5 second prizes and 4 third prizes at the provincial level in the China University Computer Design Contest. In the Huawei ICT Competition, they won 2 second prizes and 7 third prizes at the provincial level. In the Blue Bridge Cup National Software and Information Technology Professional Talent Competition, they obtained 7 second prizes and 10 third prizes at the provincial level. In the Anhui Provincial Undergraduate Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Application Competition, they won 2 second prizes and 7 third prizes at the provincial level. In the Taddy Cup Data Analysis Skills Competition, they secured 2 third prizes at the provincial level. Through interdisciplinary integration with Financial Management students, joint teams won 3 first prizes at the national level in the National Financial Big Data Processing Comprehensive Skills Competition.


The faculty has published over 200 papers, authored more than 40 textbooks and monographs, and presided over more than 30 national-level projects, provincial-level quality engineering projects, and scientific research projects. They have also participated in and completed over 40 various scientific research and teaching research projects. The faculty won 3 first prizes and 1 second prize in the National Multimedia Courseware Competition and the Educational Teaching Informatization Competition, 5 third prizes of provincial and ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 5 third prizes of provincial and ministerial Teaching Achievement Awards. One project received academic funding for leading talents in disciplines (majors) of Anhui universities; one second prize for Anhui Provincial Excellent Online Teaching Achievement and two Excellent Classroom Awards. The course Foundations of Database Application was selected as a high-quality course for the National Smart Education Platform for Higher Education and was honored with a certificate from the national open learning platform, contributing to the goal of promoting lifelong learning that is accessible to everyone, everywhere, and at any time, and establishing a learning society.
