In order to meet the development needs of digital teaching and further improve the professional capabilities of our university's faculty, the university organized and conducted the 2026 Summer Training for Backbone Teachers on Teaching Capability Enhancement from August 24 to August 28. More than 40 backbone teachers from eight colleges participated in this training.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Xue Xingyuan delivered a speech in which he introduced the group's educational resource advantages and the original mission of promoting education and assisting learning. He encouraged the participating teachers to seize training opportunities, adhere to learning, thinking, practicing, and understanding, and transform and apply their learning outcomes to their teaching work. President Liu Fucheng made a mobilization speech for the opening, pointing out that this training was both an opportunity to comprehensively enhance the comprehensive teaching capabilities of backbone teachers and an important measure for the university to prepare for the 2028 undergraduate education and teaching evaluation. He expressed his hope that all teachers would trace the roots of educational foundations, benchmark against the educational experiences of advanced institutions, and implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Supervision Commissioner and Secretary of the CPC Committee He Peihong, along with Vice President Xue Junlin, attended the opening ceremony. Jiang Feng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the opening ceremony and made deployments and requirements regarding training discipline, attendance management, style construction, and security management.
This training focused on topics such as AI-empowered practical teaching, teachers' ethics and professional conduct, research capacity building, and promoting teaching through competitions. It centered on the practical application of artificial intelligence technology in classroom teaching, strengthened education on teachers' ethics, explained key points of research topic selection and project design, while conducting course teaching demonstrations and seminar exchanges to introduce ideas for practical course construction and experiences in preparing for teaching competitions. The training adhered to the combination of theoretical lectures and field research. During the training period, participating teachers visited immersive field teaching sites such as Fuyao University of Science and Technology and Xiangxing Group Co., Ltd., extending the classroom to the front line and achieving deep integration between theoretical learning and industry practice.
Participating teachers unanimously expressed that the training was distinct in theme, pragmatic in content, and rich in both theoretical guidance and practical reference, yielding significant gains. Everyone pledged to apply what they learned, utilizing the new concepts and methods acquired during training in classroom teaching, curriculum construction, and scientific research work, giving full play to the exemplary and leading role of backbone teachers to help elevate the university's education and teaching quality to a new level.
