To further study and implement the important expositions on education delivered by President Xi Jinping, Bengbu College of Technology and Business hosted the 40th session of the “Yufeng Lecture Hall” on the afternoon of April 2. The event featured a keynote lecture by Deng Chuanhuai, Executive Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Society of Education and former Director-General of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the Ministry of Education. The lecture was attended by over 600 participants, including Yang Ye, Supervisory Commissioner and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university; Jiang Feng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission; Xu Jian, Assistant to the President and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee; heads of various departments and schools; faculty representatives; and student representatives. The event was chaired by President Liu Fucheng.

Deng Chuanhuai is an expert with extensive experience in higher education administration, education policy research, and the development of educational legislation. After working in higher education institutions for 15 years, he joined the Ministry of Education in 2002, where he served in multiple departments, including the Department of Social Sciences and Political Education, the Party Committee Office, the Department of Social Sciences, the General Office, and the Department of Policies and Regulations. Over the years, he has been deeply involved in educational policy research, Party building and ideological education, legal development, and the drafting of official documents. He also participated in the formulation and revision of several major education laws and regulations, including the Education Law, the Vocational Education Law, and the Degree Law.

Under the theme “Deepening Understanding of President Xi Jinping’s Important Expositions on Education and Accelerating the Building of a Leading Country in Education,” Deng Chuanhuai closely examined current developments in education. He elaborated on key topics such as the fundamental mission of education, major educational issues, the comprehensive implementation of the Party’s educational guidelines, the acceleration of educational modernization, and the promotion of the spirit of educators. Through these discussions, he provided an in-depth interpretation of the rich connotations and core principles of President Xi Jinping’s educational thought. Drawing on his own professional experience, Deng also shared reflections on lifelong learning, professional conduct, personal integrity, and the qualities required of dedicated and responsible public servants. During the lecture, he highly praised the university’s motto — “Loyalty, Inclusiveness, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Vision” — and fully affirmed the university’s educational initiatives, including its “Six Commitments” approach.


In his concluding remarks, Headmaster Liu Fucheng noted that Deng’s lecture demonstrated strong political vision, profound theoretical insight, practical relevance, and clear logical structure. Closely aligned with the national strategy of building a leading country in education, the lecture not only systematically interpreted the essence of President Xi Jinping’s important expositions on education, but also shared valuable life experiences and reflections on family education. President Liu emphasized that the lecture provides important guidance for the university’s high-quality development and institutional evaluation efforts. The university will take this lecture as an opportunity to transform its learning outcomes into strong momentum for reform and development, remain committed to fostering talent for the Party and the nation, continuously improve the quality of education, and contribute the wisdom and strength of Bengbu College of Technology and Business to the building of a leading country in education.
