The results of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Mathematical Contest in Modeling (APMCM) have been officially announced. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Zhang Yang from the School of Data Science and Applications and through close team collaboration, the team consisting of Zheng Qishuang (2023 Marketing), Yu Lei (2023 Computer Science and Technology), and Gao Mengmeng (2023 Economic Statistics) won the National First Prize. Another team, comprising Zhao Weiling (2023 Asset Valuation), Ren Xianyu (2023 Computer Science and Technology), and Xu Hong (2023 Auditing), was awarded the National Third Prize.


The APMCM is a highly influential international academic competition in the Asia-Pacific region. it primarily assesses students' comprehensive ability to solve practical problems using mathematical knowledge and computer technology. It serves as an important reference for postgraduate recommendations, comprehensive evaluations, and innovation scholarship assessments in universities.
This year's competition attracted tens of thousands of students from nearly a thousand universities worldwide, covering all 985 and 211 institutions in China, as well as renowned universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Australia, and Malaysia. According to official data, the award rate for the First Prize in this competition is only 3%. The success of our students in standing out among such fierce competition and meeting rigorous selection standards demonstrates their solid professional strength and excellent comprehensive qualities. It also reflects the university's significant achievements in talent cultivation through mathematical modeling and multidisciplinary integration.
