To inherit and promote excellent traditional Chinese culture and strengthen the emotional bond between students and their hometowns, the School of Accounting and Finance at Bengbu College of Technology and Business (BCTB) held a themed activity titled Savoring the Flavors of My Hometown from February 2 to 28, 2026. The initiative encouraged students to participate in, record, and share their local Lunar New Year customs, showcasing the diverse festivities of their hometowns through various formats.

During the activity, students explored their local communities to experience and document unique regional traditions, using cameras to capture festive moments and writing to express their insights and nostalgia. The contributions were rich and diverse: some recorded intangible cultural heritage performances, such as the making of Banlong (Dragon) Lanterns in Fanchang, Wuhu City, and the Iron Flower (Datiehua) performances in Fengyang City. Others focused on the bustling scenes of New Year markets and temple fairs or captured intimate family moments like the New Year's Eve dinner, pasting spring couplets, and traditional New Year greetings. These efforts collectively presented a vibrant tapestry of regional cultures and deepened the students' understanding of traditional customs.

The successful implementation of this activity not only enriched the winter break of the students but also established a platform for cross-regional cultural exchange, enhancing their sense of cultural confidence. Moving forward, the School of Accounting and Finance will continue to utilize traditional culture as a medium to launch more featured campus cultural activities, fostering the inheritance and promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture among the youth.
